#AtoZBlogChallenge: I is for Immigration

This weekend our extended family arrives to meet our son. They have been patiently waiting for 2 months as we struggled through attachment and adjustment issues. I don't have a lot of time to post but in keeping with the challenge: I is for Immigration.

Today brought more than our extended family to our doorstep. Though our son became a US citizen when he stepped (or rather was carried) on to US soil on January 25th, today we received our son's official paperwork in the mail!

Of course one might think this was the end of the longest paper trail and assembly of forms and information you can imagine, but there are still a few hoops to jump through in order to obtain our son's US birth certificate. Still, if we have learned anything from this journey it's that you have to celebrate the little victories. And this day is one of them.
